Life's river
melded this old pair.
Its eddies
and currents
bore them aloft, many years.
Now they dream beside its bank.
Thanks to Margaret Bednar for inspiring me to write this shadorma for In Tandem #18 - in between my coughing this afternoon!
You know, I painted this from a photo I took of Little Traverse Bay in Petoskey, MI. It is not a river, but many people have lived their as children, young adults and now retirees. This fits perfectly. :) I like "it's eddies and currents"... yes, life has many of those.
ReplyDeleteJinksy, I like this poem very much. Sometimes it is nice to take time to dream.
ReplyDeleteMargaret - I got that feeling of time - living in the same place for years - so it's interesting to hear what you had to say on the subject. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteAnd Mary - I always have time to dream. :)
Time to dream, yup, once I was up and away, now the time has come to - sit and dream, but get up and go on the odd time, lol.
ReplyDeleteGreat work and post.
