to lift your spirits, make you smile.
Look to the sun,
whose daily toil is never done
but stretches out full many a mile
in order that it may beguile.
Look to the sun!
Thanks to Imaginary Garden, I've been beguiled into writing a Rondelet, a poetic form which will be explained for you if you click on their name above.
And while on the subject of sun, here are three Lanturnes, for good measure, with thanks to Margo Roby for introducing them to me - or me to them!
Sun
shining
overhead
creates inner
peace.
The
ripples
of shadows
help to soften
glare.
Their
blanket
will cover
until morning.
Sleep!

Sleep!
And now I've added the lot to Poetry Pantry, as waste not want not!
You do do some wonderful things with images. I think I need some of that sun's energy!
ReplyDeleteVery apt for the first day of September. The sun at this time of year is rather special, if rare.
ReplyDeleteThis is full of such an energetic vibe! I really enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteYou have added a lot indeed. A lovely blending of French and Japanese cultures. The Rondolet was spot on with your hard working sun, and your lanturne is brilliant in the sun and softly glowing while children sleep. Wonderful.
ReplyDeleteMagic sun shines bright
ReplyDeleteJust look at the rays of light.
You have a way with words...that all I can say and needs to be said. :)
ReplyDeleteWell Done, the magic of how the day unfolds around the sun~
ReplyDeleteLove the image and the words!!
ReplyDeleteMagical for sure

Each of these brought such pleasure! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteWell done -- both the rondelette and lanturne. Two forms I learned this week too and will be revisiting.
ReplyDeleteLove what you did with the photo--and the words! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteLook to the sun...I needed to read this. Thank you.
