Cold Calling

In a comment on my last post, Dr FTSE asked me to write a little something about those annoying people who plague our lives, either by trying to sell us computer or internet deals- or simply for the chance of hacking our screens.

I heard and obeyed, Doc...

"There's something wrong with your computer,
just follow my advice!"

Thinks:- (But if you do, I'l nobble you
just like a ton of ice
that's jettisoned from out a plane -
It won't be very nice!
I'll infect you with a virus before the day is through,
if you heed my wicked words, as some poor suckers do.)

I pretend to be an expert, an IT brainy geek -
the kind that uses telephones to feed you double-speak -
until, too late, your screen goes blank
and I'll know that I'm the one to thank, ha HA!

  2. I just don't understand why hackers do what they do. They definitely must have too much time on their hands an too much hatred in their hearts.

  3. This is good, Jinksy! There are some nasty people out there unfortunately.

  4. I hate to think such poisonous hearts exist but I guess they do, just setting out to kill other people's joy.

  5. Well written bit of poesy and a handy warning. Personally, I think that people who hack ought to be treated like any other terrorist... can we say "Guantanamo"?

  6. Did someone hack your screen and changed the 'of' into 'if'? ;-)

    2. Ah! there it is! Took me three more reads before I spotted it! LOL. I'm a crap editor, as well as a crap typist. Thanks, Carolina. :)

    3. LOL because I came back to see if I was wrong (I'm never wrong you know) and I couldn't find it. Huh? Seriously doubting myself I scrolled down and then read your second answer. Ah! LOL again ;-)

  9. A particularly fun read with the comments and typos and all. You're a born entertainer, Jinksy. I love it.

  12. Computers are a love-hate relationship, aren't they? And hackers, well i have no love for them.

  13. Sometimes I wish I could hack the hacker, you know? Would like to give them a bit of their own medicine, but oh well all I can do is NOT get hacked, huh? Enjoyed the read. Blessings!

  15. Great poem! Gave me a bit of a chuckle, it seems in my family I'm the one everyone always calls when their computers crash, maybe I should...ah nevermind, they'd just ask me to fix it again anyway lol.

  16. That was wonderful!
I sure hope it wasn't based on real life experience. :)
