Today I made a daffodil
with crochet hook and wool ;
real ones never grew this year,
for winter days were full
of snowy cold and raincloud skies –
while weather played the fool.
Nature's tempting failed; in vain
she pleaded “ Spring, please come!”
(She’s hiding in some distant land
and reining in the Sun!)
55 words for MrKnowitall written last evening in expectation of Friday!
Very clever! I can't knit or crochet, though I tried to learn. I'm quite hopeless. I am in awe of those who can do it.
ReplyDeleteI love your verse! 55 could be sung- thanks! and spring is very slow here too-
ReplyDeleteThat's lovely, Jinksy! Old Man Winter is being a hog, pure and simple!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Your daffodil just needs a hat! Weather does play us for fools, and fools we are. Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteBe patient. The daffodils will be springing up just when you think surely Summer is running late.

Lots of spring weather where I am, but I can't crochet. It's always something!
ReplyDeleteAh Jinksy, the rhyme and meter make this a delight to read aloud. And your daffodil is amazing. You really are multi-talented!
