Altered Focus

A landscape
can suggest a mood,
promise a
hint of joy.

Despite unearthly colours.
serenity waits.

For one whose
imagination
sees beyond
an image,
the given, painted surface
leads to magic realms.

There, pathways
tempt one to follow;
mind and soul
seek freedom,
and each new way of thinking
introduces change.

Without this,
all life would stagnate,
would die,
unchallenged.

The artist uses colour
to change perception.

Detail used is from this week's Mag 105 image:epic mahoney as provided by Tess Kincaid. I've chosen to write a sequence of four shadormas to accompany it.

  7. What I love about that first stanza is that it is so true.....the image itself is frozen but what's going on in front, behind and around it, the various feelings and emotions that may not first seem apparent, latch on to someone's life experience and take on a world of their own. great thought...loved this.

How reassuring this is, with art and artists the vehicle.

  13. This is beautiful. Serene, thoughtful yet inspired by the psychedelic colors of the prompt---a turning away down a new path.

  14. I like the idea of magic realms perceived through the painted surface, and how clever to take one small part of the image like that.

  15. The artist uses colour to change perceptions and to hide the bike. (Just joking, J)
